Can I use XanderGlasses with hearing aids or cochlear implants?

Many of our users with severe to profound hearing loss, who use other hearing devices, wear XanderGlasses to supplement their understanding in difficult situations. The glasses will work with most devices.

We have found that XanderGlasses provide the most significant benefit to those who have severe to profound hearing loss and are comfortable reading captions. Many of our users wear hearing aids or have cochlear implants and they benefit from the glasses in specific situations, such as meetings or social gatherings when background noise is amplified by hearing aids.

If you have mild hearing loss and use hearing aids, and add XanderGlasses, having two sensory inputs may be overwhelming, especially in quiet environments when your hearing aids work well.

If you want to try using XanderGlasses with other hearing devices, we recommend that you begin by focusing on the person or people talking to you, and refer to the captions as you need them. Instead of reading word for word, you can glance at the captions periodically, to confirm that you understand the conversation.
